COSHH Regulations
The Health and Safety at Work Act places a duty on employers to protect employee’s health, safety and welfare. C.O.S.H.H. (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is part of this Act and places a duty on employers and employees to ensure that the exposure to hazardous substances is: – ‘preferably prevented’ or otherwise ‘adequately controlled’. It is a legal requirement under The H & S Executive.
Regulations to undertake a full test and report of all Local Exhaust Ventilation systems functioning at your site, this includes, dust extraction systems / spray booths / fume extraction. The purpose of this is to ensure your L.E.V. (Local Exhaust Ventilation) systems are achieving an adequate level of control in circumstances where your employees may be exposed to a substance hazardous to health. Dust of any kind, depending on its concentration is considered as a hazard.
